I was born in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!) but grew up in Richmond, Texas until high school graduation. From there, I attended The University of Texas where I got my Bachelor's degree in Art History. I then decided to go back and get certified as an EC-4 Generalist teacher. I have my ESL and Special Education certification as well. My first teaching job was right here at Clayton Elementary as the Life Skills teacher in 2009. From 2010-2015 I taught 2nd grade and loved every minute of it! This will be my sixth year teaching 4th grade.
My husband, J.P. and I live in Buda with our 8 year old son, Hudson, 4 year old daughter, Harper, and our 5 month old chocolate lab, Ruger. In our free time we love to go on outdoor adventures like hiking Enchanted Rock, camping, fishing, and hunting. When I get a chance, I love reading, working out, crafting, and spending time with my family.
As I begin my 12th year teaching here at Clayton, I am so excited at the opportunity to teach 4th grade writing and Texas History! My goal is to provide a nurturing environment, create highly engaging and hands-on lessons, as well as encourage students to become life long learners. Here's to a wonderful 2020-2021 school year!
